As part of our Talk for Writing programme this term, the children are learning all about procedural writing. Today, they followed a procedure with minimal adult assistance. The lesson incorporated teamwork, following instructions, and plenty of numeracy work, particularly in measuring weights accurately.
Thanks to Amy's prize money from her house design competition, the school has purchased a class set of weighing scales. This meant we didn't need to ask the children to bring in their own scales from home.
The children all had a chance to sample the scones they made, and they thought they were delicious. These scones will be sold at our upcoming cake sale, where everyone loves to buy homemade treats.
