Farewell Sadie Hussey P2

19th Apr 2024

We will all say our farewells to Sadie Hussey today, as her funeral Mass is celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Derrygonnelly followed by her burial in Boho graveyard.

We are simply heartbroken.

Sadie was a beautiful, warm-hearted, helpful kind little girl who became part of our lives from P1 in September 2022 and she was with us right up until our annual cake sale just before the Easter holidays this year. Her face lit up the classroom when she smiled. Her love for her friends and endless hugs for us all will live with us in our hearts. Sadie couldn’t attend school from October till after the New Year, but we had special moments together in between. Most notably when she came to visit for her surprise birthday party in November and then in December to enjoy the Christmas plays. In November, Fr. Cathal led a school Mass where we held Sadie in our prayers and she was in our thoughts every day.

Sadie returned to school again in February and March, and it was such a beautiful, special time for us all with her. We just loved her. She was so loving and such a pleasure to have with us. Everyone of us who shared in her days, from her bus journey to and from Killyhommon, through all our staff, and our pupils will have nothing but lovely memories of Sadie. We will remember her always for her bravery, her strength, her determination, her smile, and kind gentle ways. Such a unique, brave little angel.

Now Sadie rests in heaven and our thoughts extend to her entire family- her sisters Molly and Rose are much loved pupils here, remain in our prayers. We also pray for Sadie’s parents Charlene and Sean, her grandparents, her aunts, uncles and cousins plus all of their friends.

May God bless Sadie’s gentle soul.
